Although a fairly new business our popularity has grown at quite a rate!
We think this is due to our friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and dedication to the quality of our work!
Here at lock n load dreadlocks we love the colorful personalities and new friends our work brings or way and the opportunities it brings for artistic expression!
Making dreads is not just a job to us its lifelong passion! We are not a typical salon pumping out customer after customer as fast as possible.
We offer a more personal service taking only one booking for a full head of dreadlocks or two maintenance booking per day this is due to the fact that time varies dramatically from one person to another depending on hair type and texture the last thing we want is to rush the job and compromise quality.
We do not charge by the hour! We quote for a job and stick to that quote regardless of time spent
Due to the tourist trade and transient population of cairns we have made and maintained dreadlocks for a variety of different hair types and textures. We can lock any hair type!
We also offer hand crafted dreadlock extensions made from either 100% human Remy hair or kanekalon afrellie fiber (synthetic hair). Our synthetic hair is specially selected for its realistic looks and low maintenance quality’s.
Our dread lock extensions are attached seamlessly to new or already existing locks without the use of any glue or twine.
Lock n load dreadlocks is a natural deadlocking service we do not use wax , glue or nasty chemicals to create dreadlocks these thing are not needed.
All we use is a crochet hook and a comb
We do not interlock the base of the locks(passing the tip of the dreadlock threw the base )to tighten, this doesn’t make good dreads, it causes lumps and bumps and unwanted weak spots in the dreads.
Our dreading technique has been developed over many years of experience and under advice from some of the world’s leading dreadlock experts, we have done our homework in order to provide our customers with the best service possible.
